The Forgers cover band have an impressive list of skills and experience in the music industry…

The Forgers cover band was formed in 2009, and has since performed at hundreds of bars, weddings, university balls, garden parties, corporate events and private functions. We have performed to thousands at music festivals across the country.

The Forgers have appeared on BBC3’s ‘Don’t Tell The Bride’ programme, and were featured in Rock ‘N’ Roll Bride magazine.

As well as being highly skilled instrumentalists, we are all also accomplished lead and backing vocalists. Basically we do the work of six men!

Meet the band

Forgers bassist Max Wurr

Max Wurr

Bass and Vocals

Max has been a singer and instrumentalist since childhood. He has played guitar and bass with various jazz, pop and rock line-ups, is an experienced singer/songwriter and has also written musical scores for professional theatre productions.

Max also plays the part of Paul McCartney with Ultimate Beatles.

Forgers guitarist Cliff Smith


Cliff Smith

Guitar and Vocals

Classically trained guitarist, vocalist and bandleader Cliff Smith has over twenty years performing experience. He has composed songs, and music for various orchestral ensembles. In 2006, Cliff released an original EP, ‘Times & Places’.

Cliff sings and plays acoustic, electric and slide guitar, ukulele, and bass guitar. He gives guitar and ukulele lessons to adults and children from his central London studio and online.

He is also a prolific YouTube partner, having uploaded over 100 free lesson videos and original backing tracks.

Cliff plays the part of George Harrison in Ultimate Beatles tribute band, and performs regularly with Mercury Prize nominated songwriter Nick Bird in acoustic covers duo Six String Stereo.

Forgers drummer Chris Higginbottom

Chris Higginbottom

Drums and Vocals

Chris Higginbottom is one of the UK’s top drummers, currently a member of the Ronnie Scott’s Allstars and Gilad Atzmon’s Orient House Ensemble. A Royal Academy of Music graduate, Chris lived in New York for eight years where he played with many of the biggest names in jazz including Mark Murphy and Seamus Blake.

He has performed all over the world including the Blue Note Tokyo, Birdland in New York, the House of Blues in Chicago, The Roxy in LA, Montreal Jazz Festival and countless other venues.

Since relocating to London in 2010 Chris has also performed/toured with Kyle Eastwood, Westlife, Marti Pellow, Georgie Fame and Carleen Anderson. He has released two albums as a leader – ‘One’ (2005, Basho records), and ‘Where Land Ends’ (2013, F-IRE).
